Gucci's Past

In 1921, in Florence, a small store which sold leather good and luggages,  opened by Guccio Gucci. In 1930s, the store was already making a great success. Visitors who were on Florence for vacations, were all in search for the inspired collection of trunks, gloves, bags, belts and shoes. The Horsebit icon, that Gucci made, was inspired by the local horse-riding aristocrats and their demand for riding gear. In 1950s, Gucci opened a store in Milan and in New York, building its global presence as a symbol of modern luxury.
